As we head into 2010 many changes are taking place, one of which is the creation of this Blog, where we will be posting up to date news about what the band is up to.
To begin with the main website at www.briefcasebluesbrothers.com has had a facelift, with a few new features added, with more to come in the near future. We have also got a facebook page to add to the existing myspace page, and a dedicated page on ents24.com where we will be listing all public gigs for the band (private ones are .....well....private!)
There have been a couple of reshuffles in musicians...
Chris Cartwright is officially welcomed back to the band for all public theatre shows. He was the group's original Elwood back in 1996 and returns to the role after a few few years away (in Joliet perhaps?) Matt Hewitt will still be performing as Elwood on some private shows, sharing the workload with Chris.
Phil Simpson and Pete Coates have unfortunately retired from their position as "first call" horn section due to poor availability for the 2010 shows and other work commitments. We wish them well and hope that they will still be able to perform as a "dep" section in the future, and look forward to working with them again soon. The new horn section members will be officially announced over the the next few weeks, so stay tuned.
The show is currently getting a tuneup ready to be unveiled at the Wilde Theatre, Bracknell on 24th January. There will be new arrangements of existing songs plus a few new tunes. There will also be some new dance routines and some props and costume additions to work in. We believe that the 2010 show is set to be the best we have ever produced.
Hopefully we will have some new videos and photos from the first couple of shows to add to the website to show you some of the new elements.
Until then have a great 2010 and we hope see you all at a show soon
